Christmas Pics

Santa was very good to the kids this year. The tree looks so pathetic because the cats knocked it over and broke most of the ornaments and some of the branches.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

I love this song. It pompts instant good behavior at my house. I've been singing it at least once a day for a couple weeks now.

You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out Who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!
O! You better watch out!
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

Raggy Christmas Tree Skirt with Angels

This one came out very pretty. I used an angel stripe cotton fabric for the top. The center is white cotton flannel, and the back is muslin. Red ribbons are used to tie the open ends together around the tree. It measures 35" in diameter from point to point.

Kids and Grandkids

Left to right: Juan-Diego (3), Oliva (6), Paige (4), Peyton (21 mos). What little hams!

Catie and Nick

Here is my beautiful Catie with her longtime boyfriend Nick. Catie is in nursing school in Topeka, at Washburn University. Nick will graduate this spring with a degree in mechanical engineering from K-State. Don't they make a cute couple?

Oliva's School Picture

Oliva's first grade pic. I know I'm a little biased, but isn't she just beautiful?

A Dog and his Boy

Here is Charlie the dog with Juan-Diego (3). Charlie is a loveable mutt we saved from death row at the Osawatomie dog pound. We think he's part blue-heeler, part something BIG. Probably Lab. He is an indoor dog, and extremely well behaved. Even though we make him live with cats. He does shoot me a look whenever they dare enter his personal space. Yes Charlie, I know you only tolerate the cats because I love them too.

Juan-Diego's Dinosaur Rag Quilt

This is Juan-Diego's dinosaur quilt. It is made with just a layer of flannel front and back. No batting or X in the squares. This is a nice lightweight toddler size quilt and he carries it around with him all over. It is very soft and cuddly. He curls up it it to watch movies, and takes it in the car when he thinks he's cold. When he's having a bad day he even takes it with him to the sitter's. I love the bright colors, it's very cheerful.

Rag Quilt - Frogs and Flowers

I have a serious addiction to sewing rag quilts. I'm going to do a crafts fair in November, so I'm making a bunch of these in the hopes they will sell at the fair.
This one with the frogs and flowers is one of my more recent creations and is up for grabs. It has 6" blocks, cotton on the front with two layers of cotton flannel on the back. The rags came out very rich and full. Disregard the 2005 date, I forgot to reset the date on my camera when I changed the batteries. :)

O-R-E-O

America's favorite cookie, also a favorite midnight snack of the local slugs. I wonder if he goes for the cream filling first? I wouldn't have seen this had the dog not insisted on taking a walk in the middle of the night. Thanks, Charlie. I'm up.
